Children’s Foot Problems

Children’s feet undergo many developmental stages and can be prone to different issues than adults.

The bones in children’s feet are cartilaginous when they are born and then will fuse to become bony at different ages.

The feet will be “flat” when they are born however the arch will rise by about 8 years old.

We treat lots of problems such as heel pain (Sever’s Disease), arch pain, bow legs, pigeon toes and knock knees.

Children can be more prone to ingrown toe nails, athletes foot or warts. All can be treated by seeing a podiatrist.
